Unlimited has no fixed match timer

Unlimited has no fixed time limit. The run continues until the worm dies, making it the simplest place to learn movement, test camera comfort, understand staged growth, and see how route choices change as the body gets longer.

  • Use it for a first browser run without waiting for a competitive match.
  • Practice the same opening route and compare when a turn starts becoming too tight.
  • Log in before a serious record attempt if you want the result connected to your account.

Ranked is 10 players for three minutes

A Ranked match starts with 10 players and runs for three minutes. Before the clock expires, placement follows elimination order: staying alive longer matters. If the three-minute limit is reached, the remaining placement is decided by score.

This creates two different decisions in one short match. Early on, avoiding an unnecessary death protects placement. Near the time limit, a safe score pickup can matter more than a risky chase that leaves no exit.

  • Login is required so the match result and rank change belong to the correct account.
  • The HUD shows the remaining players and match time; use both, not only the score.
  • Country and season boards provide context after the result is saved.

Friend rooms are private three-minute matches

Friend matches use a three-minute default round in a private room. Create or enter a room code, invite the people you want to play with, confirm ready states, and let the host start the round.

  • Use a room code instead of open Ranked matchmaking.
  • Ready states show the host who is prepared before the start.
  • The room is casual and does not add Ranked point pressure.
  • Support reports remain available for offensive names, harassment, suspicious automation, or invite abuse.

Choosing the right mode

All three modes use the same movement, growth, item, and collision rules. The useful difference is the finish condition: Unlimited ends on death, Ranked compares 10 players inside a three-minute window, and Friend mode runs a private three-minute round.

  • Choose Unlimited for practice or an open-ended score attempt.
  • Choose Ranked when elimination order, the clock, and account rank should matter.
  • Choose Friend match when you want a room code and known players.
